The beautiful city of San Clemente in Orange County is located on the California coast with a population of 63,522 residents, according to the 2010 census. It is known as the “Spanish city by the sea” because of its Spanish colonial inspired architecture. The city is known for its spectacular views of the ocean, hills, and mountains. In 1969, President Nixon bought part of an estate in San Clemente. This estate caused a growth and repopulation of the area. It was nicknamed, “The Western White house.” Many world leaders visited Nixon there. When Nixon resigned, he stayed at the estate to write his memoirs. There are currently no skilled nursing facilities in San Clemente. However, there is one skilled nursing facility located 4.7 miles away in San Juan Capistrano.
The development of an infection is one way your loved ones may be abused or neglected in a nursing home or a residential care facility for the elderly. When your loved ones are under the care of a skilled nursing home facility, they are usually in a more fragile state, which makes them more susceptible to infections. There are different types of infections that can be contracted at such facilities. The most common types of infections include scabies, Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Clostridium difficile (C. difficile), and Sepsis. If these infections are not properly cared for, they can spread and ultimately lead to death. In order to properly treat these infections, the facilities need certain resources. These resources may include extra rooms, quarantine of infected patients, washing stations, and hand sanitizers containing alcohol in every room. These resources may be costly. Therefore, some facilities tend to go without them. As a result, many of these facilities are unable to provide their patients with a safe, clean environment, promoting the rapid spread if infections. Your loved ones should not endure any form of abuse or neglect because a facility is not equipped with the proper resources to provide the appropriate level of care to which their patients are entitled. Do not allow for your loved one to fall victim to abuse at a skilled nursing facility.
