Gardena, California
Welcome to the Gardena website for the Yeroushalmi Law. As a Los Angeles nursing home neglect and elder abuse law firm, we created this website to raise awareness about the dangers of nursing home neglect, and to provide you with options, should you ever find yourself a victim of such abuse and need legal support.
Based on archaeological findings, the Tongva Indians hunted and fished in the region that is known today as Gardena. Also known as Gabrielino Indians, these were probably descendants of those who crossed from Asia to North America approximately 10,000 years ago. In 1784, shortly after the founding of Los Angeles, Juan Jose Dominguez, a Spanish soldier, was given a land grant in honor of his military service--a common practice at the time. Part of this land contained what became known as Gardena. Eventually, it was farmed by the early settlers of the city of Gardena. Today, the population of Gardena is 58,829, according to the 2010 census. Gardena is home to 8 Skilled Nursing Facilities.
At the Yeroushalmi Law, we understand how difficult it can be to find a suitable nursing home for yourself or a loved one. Despite all your hard work in your search for an ideal skilled nursing facility, it is unfortunate and utterly disappointing when you discover that your loved one's care center is violating his or her Patients' Rights. Although most often, the rights in violation involve understaffing, there are many other ways that a nursing home can be subjecting your loved one to neglect and elder abuse. For example, nursing homes are responsible for preventing pressure ulcers. One such prevention technique involves repositioning patients, so that they do not place too much pressure on one specific part of the body for an extended period of time. However, nurses often neglect to do this, especially when facilities are inadequately staffed.
We firmly believe that the occurrence of injuries that are completely preventable is a heinous offense that forces your loved one to suffer unnecessarily. If you or a loved one has been in such an unfortunate situation, our team of experts here at Yeroushalmi Law can help you. However, it is important that you contact us in a timely manner, as the statute of limitations for your medical injury case is only one year. Furthermore, evidence recalled from the memories of witnesses to your injury becomes ineffective and inaccurate as time passes.
We will provide you with a free consultation and if you are unable to come to us, we will come to your home or hospital bed.
